Mrs Becky Wood, Headteacher - People, Finance and Premises Committee/Achievement and Achievement and Quality of Teaching Committee
I was appointed as Headteacher in September 2021 and have worked hard with the staff team to develop the curriculum and provision we offer at Langtoft Primary School. We are very proud to have been graded as 'good' in our recent Ofsted inspection and myself and the team are committed to continuing to develop what we offer here at Langtoft to be the best it can be with the support of the governing body.
Russ Seaton, LEA Governor (Chair of Governors) - Lead of Wellbeing and Provision Committee, Achievement and Quality of Teaching Committee
I have been a member of the Governing Board at Langtoft Primary School since Autumn 2014 and was elected as the Chair in August 2015. I work in Peterborough as a Product Manager at Perkins Engines and our family have lived in Langtoft since 2012 with our twin daughters attending the school until 2019.
As the Chair of Governors I strive to ensure that the work of the Governing Body is both efficiently and effectively undertaken and is focused, at all times, in ensuring that all of our children are educated to achieve the best of their ability within a safe, happy and successful educational environment. I work as the nominated Local Authority (LA) link governor, ensuring a close tie with both our local community and any wider developments which impact governance at Langtoft. With the support of my fellow Governors, our Headteacher, our excellent staff and the support of our Parents and Carers we will continue to provide a fantastic environment to deliver an ambitious and creative curriculum.
If needed I can be contacted by email to [email protected]
Mr Jack Hudson-Davies (Deputy Headteacher) - Co-Opted Governor - Achievement and Quality of Teaching Committee
I joined Langtoft Primary School in September 2024 as Deputy Head Teacher. I have worked for 14 years as a Teacher and Assistant Head in both rural and urban schools. My experience has helped me to build my knowledge in curriculum development, student engagement, and school management.
During my career, I’ve always put the needs of the children first. I’ve worked to address the unique challenges of various educational environments; from resource constraints in rural settings to the dynamic needs of urban schools. This experience has given me a good understanding of effective educational strategies, stakeholder communication, and data-driven decision-making. I am committed to working within the Governing body to drive meaningful improvements, foster inclusive and supportive learning environments, and ensure that all students have access to high-quality education.
Mrs Emma Potts, Staff Governor - Wellbeing and Provision Committee
I joined Langtoft in April 2023 as a teacher and as the school SENDCo. I have been a teacher for 20 years and in that time have taught in the Early Years Foundation Stage and up into Key Stage 2 in a range of schools, from tiny village schools to large city schools across the country. I strive to deliver the best learning experience possible for the children I teach, in a nurturing and supportive way. My role as SENDCo allows me to have an oversight of the provision for all children in school who may require further support, and to ensure that the provision for SEND is ever improving and meets the needs of all children. I have two primary aged children of my own who attend a local primary school.
Mrs Nicola Ferdinand, Co-opted Governor (Vice Chair) - Lead of People, Finance and Premises Committee and Health and Safety Governor
I am a parent of three children and am an accounts administrator at a local company and I am also the Scout Leader at 1st Thurlby Scout Group. After many years of being involved with Langtoft Primary School as a parent, a F.O.L.S. member and a staff member, I have taken up a role as co-opted governor. I am really looking forward to fulfilling this role and helping to maintain the already high standards that the school has achieved.
Mrs Emma Graham, Co-Opted Governor - People, Finance and Premises Committee and Safeguarding Governor
I have lived in Langtoft since 2014 and am the proud parent of my two children, Harper and Austin who both attended Langtoft Primary School. I am currently employed as the Head of Finance at New Stamford College and have been a qualified accountant for almost 10 years.
I bring an honest and hard-working approach to work, and with this I am eager to help maintain Langtoft’s current high standards and to provide the necessary support for the both the children and the school
Miss Emily Sowinski, Co-opted Governor - Achievement and Quality of Teaching Committee
For the past 10 years, I've been a primary school teacher working across Key Stage 1 and 2. Alongside this, I've spent many years in EYFS settings across the city and hold a specialised degree in early years education. As the Upper Key Stage 2 Phase Leader at a local school, my current role has allowed me to deepen my insights into senior leadership, including leading school-wide development projects, managing teams and providing coaching and mentorship. In addition to this, I've also contributed to a school governing body before in a staff capacity.
These varied experiences have provided me with a practical understanding of education, which I am now applying to my role as a governor at Langtoft. As part of the Governing Body, my primary goal is to collaborate with the team to ensure the school consistently delivers excellent education to its students.
Miss Hannah Yemc, Co-opted Governor - Wellbeing and Provision Committee and SEND Governor
After living and working in Peterborough for a number of years I now live locally in Deeping St James with my young family. Our daughter, Eva, joined the school in 2014 and our youngest, Ollie, now attends. I work in Bourne as a Secondary English and Media Teacher and look forward to working alongside the team at Langtoft to continue to maintain the high standards of education and wellbeing that the school has such a reputation for.
Mr Morten Andresen, Co-opted Governor - People, Finance and Premises Committee
We moved to Langtoft in 2012, just before our son was born. We now have 2 children who have both grown up in the wonderful community that we have here. Having spent the last 10 years in Recruitment, I have seen first-hand the importance of children having a good solid foundation in their primary education. Everything builds from there. As a result, I am passionate about ensuring we help to support the school in achieving this for everyone that comes to Langtoft Primary.
Mr Neil Hurlow, Co-Opted Governor - People, Finance and Premises Committee
I have worked as a Manufacturing Engineering manager at Caterpillar (Perkins Engines) for the past 24 years and have lived in the local area all my life. I'm married with two children and whilst we live in Barnack, both of our children attend Langtoft Primary School. I've had many years experience working with young people of various ages, through STEM related activites in schools, to supporting apprentices, work experience pupils and graduates at Caterpilar. I'm passionate about the development of young people and hope that my experiences will aid me in my role as a Co-opted Governor. I am looking forward to working with the Langtoft Primary School team to support and maintain their high standards in education.
Mr Pete Holland, Parent Governor - Wellbeing and Provision Committee and Attendance Governor
I am a proud parent of three, with two currently at Langtoft. I’m excited to become a governor for Langtoft and actively contribute to the school in achieving its vision. Having served as a governor previously, I understand the importance of supporting and challenging the school leadership to ensure students reach their full potential.
In my professional life, I am a company director, bringing 20 years of experience in leading high-performing teams and developing successful strategies in the Water industry. My passion for education and dedication to our local community make me a committed advocate for Langtoft. I look forward to working with the team to ensure every student receives an exceptional education in a nurturing environment.
Mr Chris Eley, Parent Governor - Achievement and Quality of Teaching Committee
I'm a proud parent-governor and live in Deeping St Nicholas with my wife and our two children. Professionally, I currently work at Microsoft as the UK Consulting Lead for Education and Central Government and in my spare time manage one of the age groups at Deeping United Football club, as well as coaching one of the teams in that age group. As of September 2024 I have two children at Langtoft Primary School and am passionate about working to ensure all the children at the school benefit from their time there as much as possible. I'm keen to support the board particularly around matters relating to technology, sport and creating a positive, inclusive learning environment. Please feel free to reach out to me if you see me around, I'm always happy to have a chat and listen to any thoughts, ideas or concerns from other parents.
